Boko Haram attacks military base in Borno


Boko Haram terrorists have staged a fresh attack on a military base in Baga in the Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State, a day after they invaded Gudumbali area in the Guzamala Local Government Area and sacked the residents.

The Nigerian Army on Sunday confirmed the terror attack on Gudumbali, saying that its combined troops of 82 Division Task Force Brigade and 158 Task Force Battalion repelled the attack and were restoring normalcy in the area.

FIFA’s Referees Committee on Wednesday selected 17 referees, 37 assistant referees and 10 Video Assistant Referees (VARs) for the final phase of its 2018 World Cup, holding in Russia.
Pierluigi Collina, the committee’s head, told reporters in Moscow that this was because the number of referees at the 32-day competition has to be reduced at this point in time.

The Galaxy Note 9’s S-Pen is reportedly getting Bluetooth for additional functionality



We’re still a few weeks away from the August 9th unveiling for Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9, but details have begun to trickle out about one of the biggest changes reportedly coming to the iconic S-Pen stylus: Bluetooth, spotted by Droid Life in the Note 9’s FCC filing.

‘nPDP’ faction announces new APC bloc


A faction of the ruling All Progressives Congress, believed to be backed by senior government officials pushing to challenge President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019, has announced the formation of a new party bloc.
The group said it is now the “Reformed APC”, and the “authentic” faction of the party.
It said at a press conference Wednesday that all members of the so-called nPDP, and defunct CPC, ANPP and ACN, are members of the new bloc.

Court orders National Assembly to begin impeachment process against Buhari


A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo has granted an order of mandamus to compel the National Assembly to begin impeachment process against President Muhammadu Buhari, based on some alleged constitutional breaches.
Justice Maureen Onyetenu gave the ex parte order on Wednesday, following a motion filed before her by the Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association, Ilesa branch, Mr. Kanmi Ajibola; and a human rights activist, Mr. Suleiman Adeniyi.
